Datça is a charming seaside town, with a sleepy, laid back atmosphere. Down by the water a small harbour is overlooked by  seafood restaurants. There are souvenir shops & boutiques in the town, several good beaches nearby or you can explore the remains of ancient Knidos. The major historical site in the region, Knidos flourished in the 4th century B.C. It was where the legendary Aphrodite of Praxiteles statue stood, home to Sostratos, the architect who built the lighthouse in Alexandria (one of the seven wonders of the world) & was the birthplace of Euxodos, one of the most important astronomers & mathematicians in history. 

5km before arriving in Datça the sophisticated village of Resadiye can be found. Its characteristic stone houses have been restored by Turkish elite & overseas residents.
